It's been quite some time since i really sat in front of a Bible and read it, i admit.
It's nothing to be proud of. So yes. This morning i did. I had been greatly encouraged by the Saints from Germany and Switzerland. Seeing how much the loved the Lord, how much they thirsted for His Word really stirred up something in me. There they were, jet lagged and all, sitting still and listening to God's word. And what was i doing? Restless, Tweeting, Facebooking, Sleeping, finding basically every excuse in the book to not pay attention to whatever Brother John So had to share with us.
And then i read Philipp's blog.

He said, '6.40 Clock - "Good morning" to the most important Person said - by talking, reading and listening, by default under the mosquito net.'

Okay firstly, 6:40 in the morning, i'd still be sprawled under my sheets sleeping like a log. And there he was, under a mosquito net, reading the Bible. I sleep in a fully air-conditioned room and wake up at like 1pm and complain about my blocked nose, brush my teeth, eat my breakfast and then switch on the TV. No reading of His Word. Whereas he, far far away from his homeland, is reading His Word early in the morning. Maybe you might not be very impressed by all these, but i am. When i was in Cambodia, i struggle to even wake up at 7 in the morning. And when i do, i don't do my morning watch too. I just shower and get ready for the day, eat my breakfast and rush off to the Orphanages.

Okay so enough ranting about how impressed i was by them. And so yes, i read Genesis Chapter 1 today and i discovered something and would like to share with whomever is reading this. (:

So in Genesis 1:26 it says 'Then God said, "Let US make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." -NKJV

and so the study Bible says,
' In what ways are we made in God's image? God obviously did not create us like Himself because God has no physical body. Instead, we are reflections of God's glory. Some feel that our reason, creativity, speech, or self-determination is the image of God. More likely, it is our entire self that reflects the image of God. We will never be totally like God because He is our supreme Creator. But we do have the ability to reflect His character in our love, patience, forgiveness, kindness and faithfulness.
Knowing that we are made in God's image and thus share many of his characteristics provides a solid basis for self-worth. Human worth is not based on possessions, achievements, physical attractiveness, or public acclaim. Instead, it is based on being made in God's image. Because we bear God's image, we can feel positive about ourselves. Criticizing or downgrading ourselves is criticizing what God has made and the abilities he had given us. Knowing that you are a person of worth helps you love God, know him personally, and make a valuable contribution to those around you.'

So yes, i'd found this portion particularly intriguing and therefore felt that i should share it.

Pray that you spend your day with the Lord!
God bless.
